To accomplish what you want in life you have to be in control of your emotions and your energy, and not let anyone get in your way:
You Are Responsible For How People Treat You. Others will treat you how you allow them to treat you. If you’ve always been easily cast aside, talked over, downplayed, and disempowered, recognize that unless you told them it was unacceptable, you’ve created the idea that it’s “ok” for that to happen.
Set YOUR Standards. Everyday you have the ability to re-set your relationships. Decide how you WANT to be treated and talked to. Set your own expectations and standards that you demand in life.
Have an Honest Conversation. You don’t have to be a victim, you just have to have a conversation. Most people aren’t aware that their communication style is abrasive. Take the time to have a conversation that expresses your desire for something new. Also, be open to hearing feedback from them as well. Make the conversation a win-win for both involved and great things could result.
